World Premiere Play
You Are Here
by Alisha Silver, Kate Mulley, Jack Karp &
Joseph Samuel Wright
Directed by Jerry Ruiz
November 4th-20th, 2011
@ The Gene Frankel Theatre

“You Are Here was created collaboratively during workshops over the summer and in part through The Field’s Artist Residency program, supported by the Lambent Foundation Fund of the Tides Foundation.
You Are Here followed three central story lines: a troupe of drag queens and celebrity impersonators touring across middle America; an American woman fighting to stay in London permanently; and a young married couple on a less than ideal honeymoon in Japan. You Are Here explored themes of rootlessness, alienation and cultural boundaries.”

Review

“In Nylon Fusion Collective’s You Are Here, playwrights; Jack Karp, Kate Mulley, Alisha Silver and Joseph Samuel Wright create a full length play that while comprised of interwoven stories, does not feel divided but episodic as it explores the question of identity and culture/ counter culture….By definition this is experimental work but manages to feel like a well made play. “– NEW YORK THEATRE REVIEW

“I was so glad I could make the show last night.  I was particularly delighted with the third act because of the lively writing: the jousting interchanges between Michael Karp and Angel Garcia and that terrific turn by your company member, Stephanie Heitman. I counted seventeen people in the cast, and there is the stage manager and the ticket seller and the bar. What an operation and excellent set. So congratulations! I was in the southwest somewhere near Clovis, I gather, and then out onto 54th Street. Good illusion.“ – Peter Judd

“I thought your show was beautiful.  Terrific actors.  Plenty of moments.  Life insights.  Political observations.  Lots of laughs.  And an awesome set.  All directed with intelligence and a light touch. And produced with flair and grace.”-  Rob McCaskill
